One of the few houses from the early 20th century remaining in the CBD, laterly modified to be part of the Ambassador Motel. The house at former #5 or #6 Hinemaru Street is the southern of two built as mirror image. Both were owned by H.W. Beale and existed by March 1923 and possibly by 1919. There is also another story surrounding this house concerning a certain bogus Count de Montague.
