The Pink and White Terraces come to life again on this building.
Local Rotorua artist Jacob Chrisohoou and an Auckland artist known as Jonny4higher are creating a mural that will last for a long time.
"The artwork will depict Rotorua's historic Pink and White Terraces, often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world until destroyed in the 1886 Tarawera eruption.
Rotorua District Council community arts officer Marc Spijkerbosch said the mural would form part of a sculpture trail that would help breathe life back into the heart of the city while telling stories of Rotorua's history.
"Their work is really going to light up the middle of town and kick things into life. We're keen to keep the momentum going and we're currently looking at other sites to follow suit," Mr Spijkerbosch said.
