Rotorua Mayor 1942 to 1947.

Born in Rotorua in 1897, a descendant of one of Rotorua's early pioneering families, the son of Charles E. Kusabs, the founder of 'K' Motors. Educated in Rotorua at the convent school, he entered the motor business with his father managing the business until 1937, since which date he was in the retail business with the forming of the Rotorua Electrical Appliances Co. in Rotorua. Member of the Rotorua Rotary Club for over 35 years, and chairman of Bay of Plenty National Patriotic Board, president of the Rotorua Scouts' Association and Director of the Rotorua Building Society. First elected a Borough Councillor in 1939  being at that time appointed to the Advancement Committee  and during the war made Controller of Transport for Rotorua after the 1941 elections he served as Deputy Mayor and on the death of Mr Dansey, he was elected as Mayor in 1942.

During his term of Mayor was responsible for the changing of the rating system from Capital to Unimproved. Active member of both Golf and Bowling Clubs
