In the 1930s this building housed "Beale Harrison Ltd" a garage, built for Mary Kate Chandler.

Since the garage closed this building has been "Rock'n'Lobster" Cafe/Eatery, Welcome India Restaurant, now Empty for some time.

As told by Roy Archibald...

This was an L shaped business with an exit on Hinemoa Street. The Harrison who was originally a partner pulled out and the business changed it's name to Beale Motors
