Built in the 1920s, the Kusabs Family were a prominent and influential Rotorua family involved in construction, transport and timber. Architects who designed this building were from Hamilton Edgecomb and White.

This building once housed O.H. Coleman's (Menswear), Friar Tuck family restaurant, Meeks Pharmacy and now Tandoori Palace Indian Cuisine (2013) at street level and upstairs the Rotorua Citizens Club from 1926-c1984.
