Kia ora tātau,
As a kid growing up in Rotorua in the 1970s and 1980s, Majestic Theatre was my favourite place to go in the whole town. So many good memories of the theatre. It would be good if someone could share the name of the owner. An grey haired gentlemen, always well dressed, used to give out prizes at the intermission. I used to go the movies with my older sisters, then from about aged 7 or 8 on my own. Some of the movies I saw back then at that age I would not allow my kids now to see at the same age, but it was great! Watched the demolition of the Majestic from the State Insurance building nearby in 1990.
Look forward to hearing from others.
Regards
Jason

Excerpt from the Daily Post "Keith Calder" was quoted as having been there for 55 years. Perhaps that's who you remember
