Kiri Jarden, past Rotorua Community Arts Officer organised the Fish Out Of Water community arts project in 2007 and it was such a success the project is now run annually.
The fish are provided by Rotorua District Council and decorated by local people, and then are on display around the central city for locals to vote for their favourite fish.
In 2013 the competition will be run by new Community Arts Officer, Marc Spijkerbosch.
Project Co-ordinator for the last few years has been well known local Jill Walker.
The Rotorua District Library entered the competition in 2007 & 2008
